Working while trying to start a business can be grueling. Many people will start their business while still working for somebody else, which can be incredibly stressful. It is a tremendous undertaking and can get extremely tiring, very fast.

In this article, Adam Ferrari, CEO of Ferrari Energy, discusses five tips related to getting started as a business owner without sacrificing all of your free time.

1. Find Lost Time and Take it Back

Most people have moments of free time throughout the day that could be used constructively but are instead spent in other ways. These micro-moments add up, so it’s essential to hold yourself accountable and attempt to get as much done throughout the workday so that you can have more free time with friends or family later on. This will not only make you more productive, but it will also allow you to preserve relationships with loved ones despite a considerable workload.

2. Increase Productivity

That said, increasing your overall productivity can help to ensure you do not have to sacrifice your personal life for the launch of your business. Removing distractions, breaking down large projects into smaller tasks, and other common anti-procrastination tips and tricks can work in your favor, especially if utilized over an extended period.

3. Make a Schedule

This is a no brainer but is not as easily implemented as one might assume. Entrepreneurs are often called to do multiple things at once, which makes setting a schedule incredibly tricky. However, creating and sticking to a plan is essential and will allow you to get things done promptly, and set the foundation for a healthy work-life balance in the future.

4. Get Some Help

There is no shame in needing help. Hiring experts or assistants can help you to stay on top of everything and make it easier to navigate the trickier parts of opening your business. In the end, spending this money on help may increase output and push your business forward faster!

5. Understand The Value of Your Time

When you are a businessperson, you have to understand the value of your time. You have a lot of things to do, so you have to know what takes priority, the effort each task requires, and whether it’s worth it to you to do it yourself or contract it out to another person.
